  1. I cant stand it but its facts im 23 so im thinking its going to get a lot worse than this. Ive started bargain shopping and cutting down on some things I really don't need and set myself on a budget. I also shop at 3 different grocers cause each one of them has deals on things I need. Cause no welfare for me ha ha I have to pay the mighty dollar :0

But I live in az and gas prices are expected to be at 5 a gallon by august. But i cant complain to much some countries are charging 11 a gallon so im content at 4.15.

  2. I'm thinking it might actually be good for the country and its people.    Look at how people are cutting back on their consumption of new goods (probably from china) and getting more efficient in their everyday activities.   Less junk from china, less chance of dieing from some type of poison and less pollution.   Less fuel used, less money for the terrorist supporting countries.   Less pollution emmited by cutting down on both.    Less trade deficit for both.   Growing your own healthy foods, even in small amounts, can boost your health and make you more self reliant.     When this "crisis" is over people will be in a better position to pay down their debts since they have learned they don't "need" all the stuff they currently think they do.

Unfortunately, there will be losers in the coming few years; both those who can't cut their expenses enough and businesses that fold due to those that are able to cut their expenses.

  3. We can barley afford to make ends meet and we both make pretty good money.  I think that we should set up some sort of boycott...

  4. I went through all this in the 70's, so, what goes around comes around.  It will pass.  Not worth letting yourself get upset.  Pull your horns in and try to do more cooking in order to save money.  We probably all spend too much on ready prepared food, eating out etc.  Good luck.

  5. I was just at Wally's yesterday, holy c**p, one cart $330.00 and I only bought food for one week. Granted I also bought laundry soap ( yeah, what happend to the bottle..they chopped it) and other bathroom items..but yeah, everything went up....

  6. get used to it, it ain't gonna get any better.

it cost truckers twice as much to get your groceries to the store.

and it's going to continue to rise.

i could suggest that you advocate higher gas taxes, so more people would buy smaller cars, which would reduce the demand for gas, which would -- probably not lower prices, but at least make them go up slower.

but i'm afraid that's a bit too complicated for many to understand.

  7. gas groceries and everything else. I to the point that i'm about to turn off my landline phone and cut my satellite package down to the minimum. I'm thinking hard about planting a garden and growing staples like beans, cucumbers, tomatoes and such. maybe getting a couple of cows, pigs and chickens and go back to the "old" days of living (as you can tell I do live in the country).
