  1. Things you need:

    -Hoof Pick

    -Soft Brush

-Hard/Medium brush (depends on how sensitive the horse's skin is...I would use medium no matter what).

    -Curry Comb

-Mane & Tail Brush (I find hairbrushes work well)

-Gentle face and leg curry (long skinny rubbery fingers)

    -Small soft face brush

-Metal Pulling comb (If you want to pull hair)

-Shedding blade/sweat scarper (in one tool, or two seperate tools)

-Any shampoo works, there are special horse shampoos, but regular human shampoo (like baby shampoo), or Mane & Tail, which is for humans and horses.

    -I wouldn't use conditioner

-Show Sheen if you want a glowing smooth coat (dont put this on where the saddle is placed...makes it slide).

-Cowboy Magic, this stuff is WONDERFUL for tangled manes and tails.

-Hoof Protector, its like clear nail polish....helps protect hoofs from damage. (Effol is really good).

-Small scissors are good to have on hand for stray hairs

-Muzzle razor (If you'd like to trim muzzle hair)

-Small sponges for cleaning dirt out of ears and nose

I think thats just about all you need in your horse-cleaning arsenal.

  2. Curry Comb

    Shedder(if needed)

    Dandy Brush

    Body Brush

    Mane/Tail Brush/Comb

For Shampoos and Conditioner, anything is good. They make some products just for horses.

    Hoof Pick

    Hoof Duster

(Hoof duster might come on the pick)

    And, that about it!!!

  3. Body brush

    Dandy Brush

    Water brush

    Rubber curry comb

    Metal curry comb

    plastic curry comb

    Hoofpick

    Mane and tail comb

Mane and tail detangling spray (very good and smells nice)

Mane and tail conditioner and shampoo.

Sponges (horses nose, eyes and a seperate one for his bum)

Equi wash is a good shampoo for bays..

White wash a good shampoo for greys, piebalds, skewbalds.

    Sweat scraper

Mane and tail bands( If your going to a show and want to plait your horses mane or tail.

Polising cloth (Finish the horses coat of wih this to make it really shiny)

Show sheen (aso mkes the horse coat shiny)

Mud brush (Very stiff bristls used on horses with long feathers, gets all the mud out o prevent mud fever)

Shedding blade (get rid of any loose hairs)

  4. y??

    wateva,  curry comb,soft brush,hard brush,shampoo, conditioner,hoof pick,sweat scraper,comb 4 the hair...

  5. You really don't need much.  Make sure your tack box has all the essentials, curry comb, soft bristle brush for around the face, stiffer brush for the body, you might want a sweat/water squeegee, hoof pick of course, I also use a special comb for the main and tail that gets out the knots, can't think of what it is called but dog groomers use something similar, it has sharp edges on the teeth that cuts through the knots.  As for soaps, as long as your horse doesn't have any cuts or irritation, I just use Mane & Tail.  A good fly spray is a must in the warmer weather months. I don't think I'm forgetting anything.

  6. curry comb

    soft brush

medium brush(optional, but I use it to get all the dirt off, after i have used the others!)

    hard/stiff brush

shedding scraper( good for shedding season)

    hoof pick

    mane and tail brush/ comb

sweat scraper(used after baths or when extreamally sweaty)

    shampoo

    conditioner

cowboy magic detangler( this works great to help tails or manes grow in, also it really shines up your horse and leaves them tangle free, with an awesome smell!)

hoof polish (optional)- but you really should use it especially in hot dry weather conditions

    That about sums it up

  7. o theres LOADS you can use just buy an allready made up kit!!!! LOL i would say them all but i dont have enough time!!!!

    SORRY!!!!!

  8. For the body you will need a large rubber curry, hard brush, soft brush, Shedding blade.  For the face and legs a small soft rubber curry (the ones with little like fingers are nice) and a soft face brush.  You can use your soft body brush on the legs.   You will need a main and tail brush or comb. A hoof pick.

For bathing I would go with simple shampoo and conditioner I like Main & Tail.  Get some detangler for the main and tail if you want to brush them.  You will need a bathing mitt for scrubbing and a sponge for cleaning the face.  You will also need a bucket.  Then you will need a sweat scrapper for after you bath to get all the water off.

  9. Back when I had my horse, this is what I used:

    - Curry Comb

    - Hard Brush

    - Soft Brush

    - Small Face Brush (but you can just use the soft brush)

    - Brush for Mane and Tail

    - Mane and Tail Detangler/Conditioner

    - Hoof Pick

    - Farrier's Magic (green spray to treat/prevent thrush and fungus in the hooves)

    - Hoof Oil

    - Shedding Blade (really handy in the spring)

    - FLY SPRAY!!!!!

For shampoo, I just used whatever.  If you want to go cheap, buy the cheapest human shampoo and just make sure you rinse it all out.  QuickSilver is great if your horse has any white markings.

  10. The easiest and fastest way(The way I do it) is to get a curry comb, rub your horse gently in a circular motion to get out all the loose hair, then use a soft brush to wipe off all you got loose, then you can use a regular bristle brush to take out all the knots in the mane and forelock, then use the same bristle brush on the tail. Use a hoofpick to wipe off all the dirt and stuff on the hoof, but be careful around the frog. Hope this helps!!!!

  11. *you can get a different mane and tail brush but a REGULAR COMB WORKS FINE!

1.Curry Comb- lifts all the crusty dirt mud and dead hairs to the surface.

    2. Hard Brush- Brushes away all the dirt lifted from the curry comb and the dirt lying just below the coat.

3.Soft Brush- Smooths the coat and makes the coat even, also brushes away dirt on the surface and any excess debris.

    4. Face Brush- Removes any dirt or debris from the horses face.

5.Hoof pick- Removes Dirt, Rocks, and other Debris fromm the hoof.

*Sweat Scrapers- Used to remove the majority of water and sweat after a bath or long work out from the coat

6.cowboy Magic- Optional Shampoo/ leave in conditioners

    7. Vetroline Shine- Keeps away bugs and insects while giving the coat sheen

*sheeding scraper optinal but not mandaory these are daily items your supposed to use!

    This is what i use!
