I have a steep slope in the backyard which is in shade. Can any one suggest a ground cover that is not too invasive? Ideally something that can be planted with seeds this year.

  1. Periwinkle would do.  It is not too invasive, as long as you mow to the edge of where you want it to grow.  It has a pretty flower in the late spring, too.

  2. http://www.jeeperscreepers.info/index.ht...

I love this site for the search options. Once you know the name of what you want you can search for seeds.

  3. foxgloves are pretty. there's also decorative moss, but it wouldn't spread too quickly. heather's nice. you should look into bushes maybe?

  4. Japenese Spurge. (Pachysandra Terminalis)

    Well drained soil.

Work in peat moss before planting.

    Feed 10-10-10

    Prefers acidic soil.

    Easy to grow.
