I have just bought a tent and the groundsheet isn't sewn into the walls of the porch area although i have a seperate sleeping area with groundsheet sewn in.

Will I be significantly colder at night because I do not have a sewn in groundsheet in the porch area? Also will water seeping in be a problem?

  1. No. I have stayed in this style of tent comfortably. The "porch" for you to leave your shoes and other equipment (not clothes) out so that you don't get dirt in the sleeping area. Excellent style of tent. However, I would put a separate tarp under it to keep water off of the stuff (fold edges UNDER the rest of the tarp).
