I am travelling to the UK soon and need to get a car seat for my 4 year old. Some research on the net shows that Group 2,3 seats from from chair-like to almost cushion-like. What's the difference?

  1. group 2

these have a 5 point harness for the child, big chair like things

might be a bit of a squeeze for a 4 yo, unless he's quite small or a real fidget

    group 3

boosters and high back boosters, that use the adult belt to hold him in

both are legal, but i would suggest a high back booster for a 4 yo. the back section has a slot for the seat belt to keep it at the correct height for his shoulder.

the booster is the minimum he needs, but unless he is quite tall, the seat belt could rub his neck

i would go for a high back booster.

my 4 yo has a graco rallysport. the back height adjusts and it has good padding for long trips
