Group of 25 visiting Chicago at the end of October needing something fun to do?

We are having a regional managers' conference in the Chicago area and I need some ideas of what the group can do for the afternoon and evening of October 29 in downtown Chicago. We'll have 25 in our group so it needs to be fairly reasonable and within walking distance of a good place to eat afterward. We want to give the group an event that will provide a "Chicago experience." Suggestions need to be serious and non-adult entertainment themed if you know what I mean.

Thanks!!

  1. visit Navy Pier

and mabye you can book a dinner cruise

    on the Wedella

  2. The John Hanckock Tower has an elegant restaurant on the 95th floor called the signature room where people go to dine out and see the city from above. The views are spectacular. The building is located at 875 N Michigan Ave in Chicago.

The wendella boat company also has tours of the Chicago River and Oddesy Cruises has a larger boat that goes out into Lake Michigan for the evening and has dinner and dancing packages available. You can see the skyline at night and it is really beautiful.

Otherwise many people usually go to a steakhouse like Morton's, Gibson's or Lawry's or Chicago Chop House to get a flavor for the local specialty: beef. Deep dish pizza is also popular at Pizzaria Uno and Giordano's.

Other sights to see might be the Macy's on state street it used to be the Marshall Fields and is very historic. Also, there are many broadway shows in Chicago all the time. 2 very good shows everyone loves are Jersey Boys and Wicked. Tickets should be purchased now if you plan on seeing them. The restaurants around the theaters are good but it is best to eat before the show since the downtown area kind of closes down at around 9pm.
