If myself and three friends want to use a groupsave ticket, do we have to ask for one specifically or just ask for four returns and get given one?

  1. Ask for the group save just to be on the safe side as its a lot easier for the booking office or conductor and that's me speaking from experience

  2. The booking clerk is supposed to sell you what you ask for, not what is necessarily cheapest. She/he may well suggest a Groupsave if you don't ask for one - but might not. Just ask for one - it's as simple as that. Great value but you must all travel together on the same trains between the same start and destination. The tickets themselves are marked GRPSV (or something like that) and an alert ticket collector will see that and check that you're all travelling together.
