Question:

Growing a Pineapple? Weird question?!?

My mom bought a fresh pineapple at the grocery store and we planted the crown of green, spiny-toothed leaves that are left over from when the pineapple.

So far it's been a few weeks and it has grown from a little small thing to a pretty big size...

It sort of looks like this but smaller.http://i35.tinypic.com/20rqk3s.jpg

My question is, will it grow into a tree and then produce fruits? (like an apple tree)

Or does the fruit have to be plucked out of the ground (like a carrot)

Confusing question...Hope you can help :)

  3. They grow above ground but not on a tree.  Google "pineapple plant" and hit Images.  You'll see what it looks like.
