Growing my own advice needed?

i have just started to grow my own and have planted carrots

they have started to shoot .....but what do i do with them now

and when will they be ready to use

  2. They usually take around 3 months to form.

    Keep your eye on them by removing 1 particular 1 and replace it carefully.

    make sure that you keep the carrot covered well with earth to stop the carrot fly attacking them and perhaps you could grow them next to onions (if you have them) as this keeps the carrot fly from smelling them.

  3. Ready to 'use'?  What else do you have planned with them apart from eating? ;)
