Question:

Growing teenage boys?

I am going to be a senior in high school this coming year, but last year while we were all juniors, I saw an obvious difference between the Junior and Senior boys. It was obvious that the Senior boys were much taller, and much more muscular than the Junior Boys.

I'm curious - is there another strike of growth in boys when they're 17/18? I know that girls mature much faster, and I know that every person is different, but I was wondering if there was just another general growth spurt.

The difference between the classes was quite a contrast, I was just wondering if it was an anatomical thing.

Thank you! :]

  1. like mr nice guy said, they just start working out, i've noticed that when i was in school too

  2. No, the guys are really done with extreme differences

  3. Not necessarily. Usually between the sophomore/junior or junior/senior years, guys would want to improve their look. So, some may want to loose weight, some may want to start lifting weights, some just hit a growth spurt without knowing its coming! My cousin is going into the 12th grade, he used to wear size 10 1/2 and just bought size 12 shoes, interesting isn't it? Good luck and hope this helps!

  4. na  i mean yes guys will still get a lil taller so.. but also   i think just 16-17 is when most people really start to workout around then as have i and going into my senior def.. gonna make  some people go wooo man u got muscular loll

and maybe since some people stop growing its ezier to gain muscle then//  with lower metabolism

  5. A lot of guys are still gaining height till 18 or so, and are not filled out mass wise (even ignoring any working out) till early - mid 20's.

  6. there really isnt a growth spurt its just that boys really mature once they get to their senior year and it makes them seem taller and more mucular its just the way they carry themselves thats all

  7. puberty is slow for some(late bloomers) and for some faster(early bloomers); no grow spurt just puberty taking place; what you were seeing is a collection of tall and developing guys hanging together (the idea is that all seniors were bigger, taller, muscular; so relax and life will develop you into the man you will one day be.
