Growing the Game
Professional Golf Association members are getting Golf to Grow. A question that had long been left unanswered was how to make golf a more universally accepted game and how to bring it into the lives of people.
There have been a number of initiatives over the past few years. Giants in the game, organizations like the European Tour and the Professional Golf Association have contemplated multitudes in possible answers to the question at hand.
Supporting the European Tour and the Professional Golf Association tours are lesser mortals like the European Golf Course Owners Association (EGCOA), the Golf Environment Organization (GEO), GCIA, the European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA),
the Federation of European Golf Greenkeepers Association (FEGGA), Professional Golf Association of Europe, and the Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE).
The aim of such movements is to expand and to promote golf. "We're always looking for innovative ways to both build teamwork and improve the mental and physical wellbeing of golfers. Conducting golf clinics is a fantastic way to meet those objectives," said
Matthew Hong.
The Senior Vice President & General Manager, Sports Operations at Turner Sports, also added, "Plus because of our connection to golf, doing so within the framework of Get Golf Ready and Women's Golf Month was icing on the cake".
Get Ready Golf is an initiative of the Turner Broadcasting. Grow the Game of Golf was originally meant to help develop better practices to help the game.
Alongside, its aim was to allow the attached industry to grow. Feedback is then provided to leaders in golf administration and golf development.
Tarav Badhwar, who happens to belong to the European Golf Course Owners Association (EGCOA), is currently heading the operations to provide feedback for the development of the game of golf as well as the attached industry.
The other golfing bodies have pledged support for the cause. Tarav makes for an excellent choice in running affairs of the initiative: he is a recent Graduate in Golf Management from Les Roches University, Spain.
Born and raised in India, he will bring with him a life of experience and inspiration. Let golf grow to be the sport it shall be.
