  1. i was born and raised in australia. i have only ever been to vietnam 4 times. i never really like vietnam when i first when there. i actually hated it and thought that it was so boring. i'd always get sick (because my body wasn't use to the climate). i hated the smell as well! all my cousins would be at school so i wouldnt have anyone to play with! lol blah blah blah. but when i went this year, oh my god i had the time of my life! i swear i want to go back! i think that i enjoyed it so much now is because im older and i was able to go out. all my cousins have grown, and have their license to take me out. i met such wonderful people. i made new friends. i can relate to them more then i can relate to any of my friends here. my cousin introduced me to his friends. i ended up going out with one. he's so beautiful. i've never been treated with so much affection and respect in my life. he saved me! the relationships i had before him were terrible. i almost gave up on guys. i thought that all guys were the same but he proved me wrong. anyway long story although i need help about it. back to what i was saying lol im going off-track there! this year was so different to the other years when i went there. i learnt so much important things like family values etc...i realized how lucky i was. words cannot describe the feelings i had in vietnam. i learnt how to respect myself as well. through the people i met has changed me a lot. i use to be all junky, doing bad things. but somehow, vietnam has dramatically changed me into someone better. i realized that there was so much more to life. oh gosh im so frustrated that im not there anymore. but when i came back to australia, so much issues began to surface. i had trouble fitting in with my friends because i wasn't like how i use to be. i felt so weird. my friends respect me. but i still feel out of it. vietnam made me feel like i was part of something, i felt like i was accepted into something. coming back her is a bloody nightmare! the thing i don't like about vietnam is the stares from people! my top was pulled down by someone random! i copped so much stares and whistles it was so intimidating. but i learnt to deal with it by sticking close to my loved one lol! (his name is Anh but everyone calls him by his surname Dinh because its kinda weird for his guy friends to call him Anh if you know what i mean lol!)

its hard explaining the experience that i had. it was gr8!

all i gotta say is d**n i wish i was back there! i love vietnam!i have everything i need there! i love my beautiful family there as well, i miss them so much! :(

  2. ... well "sai gonese" , you know i do , "trong long cua toi , vn nha cua toi"..... but i'm not sure why, and i dont like to analyze it too much as i do about my life here in the usa... so maybe thats it. here i think about everything, procrastinate, analyze more than do.... in viet nam i just "live" . good days and bad, in viet nam my life soars [sp?], i am alive!

  3. i was born in VN, then moved here, haven't had a very good impression about Vietnamese here in the US and I feel bad about that. I like people from all over the world but I just can't really get along with Vnese here in the US. And yeah, I'm still connected in some ways, emotionally maybe, even though I've been here for quite a while now

  4. Look at urself in the mirror. Ask if u're connected to Vietnam :D

Wherever you were born in, you're Vietnamese. I would if I were you. But ... I was born here in my country, Vietnam

  7. It's said that at your last word before leaving this world, you will speak your mother language no matter how long you have NOT used it. So if you are pure VNese, 1/2 or 1/4 or even 1/8 VNese in your blood and given that you are exposed to the culture you will somehow feel related to it no matter where you were born. In my opinion, it depends much on your family especially your mother. If your Vietnamese mother relates you to the culture in such a way that it (culture, custome, language....etc) slowly and firmly affect your mentality, habit, lifestyle..... Your VNese character is engraved inside you. It will never lost.
