Growing vegetables in Las Vegas.

Hello, I'm trying to grow a few vegetables in Las Vegas. So far I've started all the plants from seeds. The only things that I've been able to grow are Cherry Tomatoes, Cucumbers, and Onions. I've started them all in the house, but I'm worried about moving them outside. We've been having 107 degree temperatures.

Will these survive if I move them outside? Should I keep them growing inside? What should I do? They're starting to get pretty big so I put them in pots, but I'm worried if I move them outside that they will wilt and the heat will kill them.

Due to our low humidity I cut a water bottle/water jug i half (depending on the size of the plant) and put it over the plants kind of making a small greenhouse that keeps it humid.

  1. hi. i also live las vegas nevada. this is my suggestion. the place you put them in should get just the morning sun. the afternoon is to hot. when you plant them waite until about 7:00 pm. about an hour before the sun go's down. put water in the holes  let it drain, before you plant. after you plant  water again. i all so water my plants, flower,  rose's at 6;00 for an hour using a soak er hose. most plants do not like their leaves wet, they burn in the sun. next year start your seeds at the first of the year. in case you did know we are in the 9th zone  good luck. 89121
