Growling noise of ceiling fan?

Noise bursts have been coming from my ceiling fan since the past 2 days and I am pretty much scared that it is on the verge of falling off,,Is it possible that a ceiling fan falling over me may be fatal ??

If you are standing directly under it at the time it could hurt you.  Turn the fan off and call an electrician.

Could be bad bearing or motor burning out but if shaft if binding up keep it off till you buy  a cheap one to replace it they are usually not worth fixing anymore they have become so cheap to buy.

Don't run it if you are not there it could be a hazard.
