This isn't for me, i'm asking on behalf of someone else.

He's 15, and he's been told by the doctors his bones are the form of a 17 year olds, though they say he does have a little more room to grow. He's around 5' and his height is causing depression, teasing, etc. So we've thought a lot about growth hormone injections. Would these work at 15? Even if he's bones are 2 years older than his real age, but still with a little room to grow? Just an inch or two would greatly help him. We're trying everything else, like stretches and healthy eating for the mean time until we know more about this.

  1. the best person to answer that would be your doctor

  2. They can help.  It depends on the person but they usually gain 8 centimeters in the first year - or about 3 inches. They would need to monitor the epiphyseal plates, because once these close growth hormones shouldn't be taken anymore - or else they can cause acromegaly (this causes nose growth, forehead growth, hand growth, way out of proportion to the body.) Look at a $5 Mr. Ab Lincoln had this!

  3. HGH causes growth in anyone not of full mature age, and only rejuvenates those who need it most.

Why make a 15 yr. old in the form of a 17 yr. old bigger?
