How can I convince my mum.

Im suffering from depression and severe anxiety. Plus I have insomnia. So going to school is a major pain in the rear. Its getting worse and worse. I feel like I just want to run away from it sometimes. But I dont. My mum is worried enough about me.

So how can i convince my mum to homeschool me?

  1. i wanna be homeschooled to. i was homeschooled back in fourth grade bc of illness, and it was fun after i got better. i want the same answer you want.

  2. i am home schooled and it is hard to push yourself to do the work but if you think you are ready then just tell your mom that being schooled at home sounds like a good alternative of the mental stresses of public school. just tell her it would help you to mentally relax and that if you don't keep up with your work you will go back to public school. and if you do get into it try going with american school it is cheap and fun  :D good luck.

  3. homeschooling is NOT harder. it is easier, i know im homeschooled and will be going to college this fall. not only is homeschooling easier it is also funner and you learn alot more homeschooling than you do going to school. no efense to the ppl who go to school. its a good choice to home school trust me i know.

  4. Gather documentation on the pros and cons of homeschooling and on homeschooling vs. public schooling. Show it to your parents and present your case. Show them some homeschooling websites that you find helpful. Parents worry about your success and have their own version of peer pressure from family and friends concerning their parenting skills. They also fear school authorities who are tyrants. Alleviate their fears.

  5. I recommend you read "The Teenage Liberation Handbook" by Grace Llewelyn.  It has a chapter on talking with your parents about homeschooling.

It really sounds like homeschooling would be a good option for you.  You just need to explain to your mum how it would work and what you think you can accomplish homeschooling that you can't do as easily (or at all) if you continue in government school.

    Good luck :D

  6. cry...alot....really it works

  7. Show her curriculum that would be easy to work with, for example Alpha Omega, Switched on Schoolhouse.

It does most of the work, like grading, lesson plans, etc.

There are other programs that are similar.

Research and give the advantages of homeschooling.

  8. I really want to be homeschooled too.

I live in Australia and I'm really miserable at my new school. It's awful. I'm not sure how to convince my Mum either. I suffer from bad migrains and miss quite a bit of school.

    It really sux!

Maybe if you tell her about how you'll get ahead academically, and that you'll have more freedem, like your family can take holidays during the school term and you can focus your afternoons on the things your more interested in.

My biggest problem with my Mum is that she thinks that if i'm always home she'll never get a social life herself. I'm trying to work out how i can change that!!

    Good Luck =D
