Guaranteed infantry in marines?

Question

I want to be guaranteed an infantry position in the marines before service, how can I go about guaranteeing that i'll position in infantry at all times?

You can't.  You can get a guarantee of assignment to advanced infantry school, but no guarantee that you will not wash out.  Once the school is completed you will be assigned according to the needs of the corps.  If the corps thinks you can best serve by being a brig guard that is how you will be assigned.

Every Marine is by heart is a rifleman, some go into other jobs others stay an Infantry Marine 0311. As with every branch, you go where your needed., but you will be trained as an infantry soldier capable of preforming standard infantry work

LAVADOG is completely right... If you want infantry then when you're at MEPS working out your contract with a career counselor make sure you get 0300 MOS put in your contract. While the Marine Corps will not guarantee you a specific job within the occupational field (aka... 0311 rifleman, etc) they will gurantee you 0300 in your contract.

I think you mean 0311 rifleman,  the only way you will be guaranteed 0311 is by joining the reserves, when you sign as active they only guarantee you the field 0300 where you can be put into 1 of 5 (I believe) infantry specialties.

The Marines don't guarantee infantry.  Just gotta do the best you can.  Everybody wants to be infantry.  They're crazy.  You gotta be tuff as nails and hope you can take physical abuse for at least four years.  You ain't gonna make it.  Askin for guarantees.

Its simple dude..You enlist in the 0300 MOS..Plain and simple..If you do this you will forever be a infantry Marine..

You can not choose the specific job in infantry but you can choose the field such as infantry..

I often wonder why many say the USMC places you were they wish to..That is stupid talk..If you choose infantry as an MOS, and you can do this..then your *** will be in the infantry..plain and simple.
