Guard Steve Vallos re-signs with Jacksonville Jaguars to replace RB Keith Toston – NFL News
Guard Steve Vallos confirmed he has re-signed with Jacksonville Jaguars a few days after his release by the team under unknown terms and will replace waived running back Keith Toston on the roster.
Vallos had earlier signed with the Jaguars on October 30 this year but was released on past Saturday. Although none of the two parties have disclosed the terms of the latest contract, they confirmed reaching the agreement.
The Jaguars have lately been found struggling on the defensive line and already lacked the protection around their quarterback. A number of commentators have commented on the need for re-signing of Vallos as part of the team’s strategy to build up the defensive
line.
The guard is a seventh-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks out of the 2007 draft and has played with Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles since then.
He was cut by the Eagles during training camp this year to be picked up the Jaguars who too did not give the player much chance before releasing him.
The player is now excited about the re-arrival of prospects so soon and is said to be raring to return action from the next game versus the Indianapolis Colts.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars have also signed rookie linebacker Brandon Marshall to their practice squad. Terms of his deal including value and tenure are not released. The side did not elaborate if they had made any changes on the training roster to accommodate
the new signee.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Jaguars have been hit with woes on both – defensive and offensive – lines and so far have managed only a single win, against their AFC South opponents the Colts. They face them again this week with a hope of clean
sweeping the series.
The second win might not be easy for the Jagaurs because they are struggling with their own issues, while the Colts have also shown consistent improvement since their first game.
Quarterback Andrew Luck gave a match-winning and record performance in their last game and looking at the momentum the Colts are riding on, the Jaguars will find it very hard to stop them.
