  1. I WOULD CHOOSE THE GUARD FOR THE BETTER JOBS AND CAREER PLACEMENT BUT THE RESERVE IS A BETTER CHOICE FOR LONG TERM

  2. the guard has a lot of combat power if you want to be 11b 19d 19k then the guards for you. if you wanna be a water puification specialist then the reserves will be good.

  3. I'm not quite sure what would cause someone to decide for one or the other. However, I found an article in Slate that discusses the Army Reserve vs. National Guard.

  4. National Guard units, while still deployable, are comprised of mostly civilians who are military members part-time.  Reservists are the same.  the difference between the national guard and the reserve, is that national guard units belong to the governor of the state they reside in, while reservists are in reserve for the nation.  However, either kind of unit can be called up to active service, as we saw in the case of Iraq.  As for what kind of people serve, I like to think that people serve in all military branches because they want to help provide for the protection of our nation and our free way of life.

  5. I'm a reservist. I honestly thought I was going active until my recruiter told me that my mom had called the station and said I go reserves or she's not signing the paper. I was only 17 at the time so needless to say I went reserves. I have friends in the Guard and they annoy the p**s outta me. idk why but they do. I'm not sure if the type of person is why they chose to be in the guard or reserves just who you want to be controlled by ; )
