my mother wants to give me guardianship of my 16 year old brother.

what would we have to do to get legal guardianship of him.

my husband is in the navy and we live on base. so in order for my brother to come on base he needs a military id..but we need guardianship of him.

does anyone know what i would have to do to obtain legal rights of him?

A: There is no quick answer to your question.

You need more help than you can receive here on Yahoo! Answers.  Fortunately for you, the U.S. Navy provides assistance with simple legal issues for servicemembers and their spouses.

Make an appointment at the Naval Legal Service Office on base.  The U.S. naval bases in California are fairly large and well-staffed.  You will probably find that the military attorney there can not only advise you on what to do but also provide you with the paperwork needed.

You might also try U.S. Armed Forces Legal Assistance.

[This is not legal advice. You should consult a licensed attorney-at-law for legal advice or representation before making decisions that may affect your legal rights.]
