The former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder insists Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho will stay long-term coaches at Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.
Bernd Schuster is confident that both Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho will continue with their respective roles in the years to come. The 52-year-old stated that Barcelona have been doing exceedingly well since Guardiola’s appointment
and reckons that the Catalan giants will find life difficult without their current manager.
On the other hand, the former West http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss, Jose Mourinho, has made a huge impact at Santiago Bernabeu and Los Blancos
will dearly miss him if the tactician decides to return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 in the near future.
Schuster stressed that the 49-year-old is an ideal tactician and should continue with his current http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 at least for the next few years. The former midfielder also rated Madrid as favourites to win this year’s La Liga.
While talking to sports publication, Sport, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 offensive midfielder further added:
"Guardiola is doing very well and he will continue because neither you or I can imagine a Barcelona without Guardiola. And a Madrid without Mourinho? Last year he won the Cup and this year it looks like he'll win at least the league.
I think Mourinho is ideal for Madrid, for at least the next five years."
Schuster also commented on the slim chances of Barcelona in this year’s Spanish La Liga. He mentioned that the reigning European and Spanish champions will find it difficult to overcome the 10-point deficit. However, Schuster is
confident that Barcelona will fight until the very end in order to retain their Spanish crown.
"I think that in the league 10 points is too big a lead and I do not see Madrid having a crisis of form or results. Barca is still alive in three competitions and sometimes the squad seems small because of injuries, but then this
is a club that always responds well on the field," Schuster concluded.
Real Madrid are currently ruling the La Liga standings with 61 points while Barcelona are 10 points behind in the second spot.
