The Spanish Champions Barcelona have been a part of the headlines and this is definitely nothing new to them. All the players performing for the Spanish club are simply extraordinary and they are good not only individually but also as a team. The Catalan
Giants have proven themselves many a times not only in terms of winning titles but also in terms of fitness and form.
When the Spanish team won the FIFA World Cup 2010, most of the players performing for the European side were from the Spanish club Barcelona. This simply explains how extraordinary every player is in the team and this is exactly the reason why they just
keep beating records after records.
After the Spaniards came back to Barcelona, they looked to be out of form because they were lacking the same fitness that they had during the last season. It was obvious because a player like Xavi Hernandez played 63 matches in one season which is definitely
a record in terms of age and fitness. However, as the time passed, the team started to recover and with the help of the Spanish mastermind and the Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola, the right players were played at the right time and that is exactly the reason
why they are at the top of the table.
After beating their Spanish rivals 5-0 in an El Clasico encounter in the Nou Camp, the Spanish Champions took their talent to European level to show what they are capable of.
Known to be one of the best teams in the world, Barcelona were tied up in a group which consisted of 3 champions – the Russian Champions, the Greek Champions and the Danish Champions. Josep Guardiola’s men had to put in a lot to face such strong sides like
Rubin Kazan, FC Panathinaikos and FC Copenhagen. With Guardiola taking his men to each home, he got the result that he wanted out of the game and managed to top the table yet again during this season.
While Barcelona were extraordinary two seasons ago as they won the UEFA Champions League, they were simply fabulous last year as well when they managed to reach the semi-final stage of the competition. This year, however, Josep Guardiola outdid his own record
number of points during the group stage. The Spanish coach took 14 points and topped the points table during the UEFA Champions League group stages as the Catalan Giants won the game 2-0 at home against the Russian side Rubin Kazan.
Without losing a single game, Josep Guardiola is now taking his team to the pre quarter-final stage of the UEFA Champions League. Now with Barcelona topping the group, they are expected to be tied with teams like Arsenal, Inter Milan, Olympic Lyon, Roma,
Marseille and even the Italian side AC Milan.
The question is whether Josep Guardiola can keep his men fit enough to win the title again this year. Can he do it? Well, that is a question only time can answer but one thing is for sure, there is almost nothing stopping this Barcelona side, not even Real
Madrid who are under the best coach in the world, Jose Mourinho.
