The Catalan tactician argued that his side deserved better in the league and that they should not have been lagging ten points behind Real Madrid.
The Spaniard expressed his opinion about La Blaugrana being in excellent form throughout the current season’s campaign and how they should have been closer to Real Madrid in the league table.
Currently the reigning Spanish Champions are ten points behind Jose Mourinho’s men in the Spanish Primera Division’s league standings.
The current gap in the points was established when the Catalans fell to a 3-2 defeat at Osasuna, whereas Los Blancos emerged 4-2 victorious over Levante in the week prior to the last one.
Jose Mourinho’s men are in the driving seat and have been tipped as favourites to take home the Spanish title by the end of this season.
Before the current season’s campaign, Guardiola’s men had established themselves as a dominant force across La Liga and the rest of Europe. They won the Spanish Primera thrice and the UEFA Champions League twice, in the last three seasons.
Guardiola insisted that La Blaugrana deserve the Spanish title even in the current season. The Spaniard showed positive attitude towards winning the title due to his side’s 5-1 victory over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 at Nou Camp on Sunday.
While talking to reporters the tactician was quoted as saying:
“We played very well this evening. We’re very happy with how things have gone and how we’ve played. We’re happy to have entertained the crowd. We’re happy that plenty of people have come to see us; let’s hope that they enjoyed it.”
“I always think that we’re really lucky to have this generation of players. It’s a privilege to be able to enjoy them because they’re fantastic lads. We’re 10 points behind but, honestly, I don’t think we deserve to be 10 points behind the way we’ve
played this season.”
The Spanish Giants will continue their La Liga campaign when they return to action against Atletico Madrid away from home.
