Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 manager, Pep Guardiola has gone on to suggest that he would opt to manage Arsenal, if he was to manage a team in the English Premier League in the future.
Given the way things are going at the Emirates, many feel that Arsene Wenger is bound to step down as the Gunners team manager in the near future. However, the biggest question that existed, was the question of just who would step up and take over the reins
of the club once the Frenchman did leave.
That question seems to have been partially answered as a source close to Guardiola has revealed that the former Barcelona manager would be happy to take over as the North London team’s manager.
“Guardiola’s preference in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429,” claimed the source.
“The club are aware he would be interested in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 in 2013.”
“Guardiola doesn’t want to go to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. He is worried about the lack of stability. He also has a good relationship with Wenger dating back to when he started doing his coaching badges at Arsenal.”
Wenger has also gone on to nominate Dragan Stojkovic as a potential heir to his throne, as he feels that he follows the same philosophy that Wenger has been using at the Emirates.
In an interview last year, Wenger said: “I would love Stojkovic to be my successor, there are a hundred reasons for that.
"Our ideas are the same and we both strive for perfect football. I knew he was going to have teams playing attacking football with many passes.”
Now with the Gunners having the option of bringing in two managers who could take over at the club, things seem to have gotten a whole lot more interesting for the team.
The board can now sit down with Wenger and see just what he wants to do in the future and if the manager is to step down at the end of the season, they can start pursuing their next target.
At the moment, it would be safer for the team to opt to go with Guardiola who has proven himself in Europe, as opposed to Stojkovic.
