Ahead of his last game as the Barca head coach, the Catalan tactician has planted a clue at making a quicker comeback than many expected.
Outgoing Barcelona manager, Pep Guardiola, has revealed his intention to coach once again. The Spaniard expressed that once he has taken some time off from work, he would like to train a new club, provided he is given a lucrative offer.
La Blaugrana’s soon-to-be former boss has emphasized that he is fully focused on taking a break from the football; however, he did not refrain at hinting that he will be back soon.
The man who served the Catalan giants for 4 successive seasons, made an official statement last month disclosing his decision to part ways with the Nou Camp outfit.
Guardiola was given the responsibility to manage the senior team after the team’s previous trainer, Frank Rijkaard, was sacked by the management.
Prior to becoming the head coach of the first team, the tactician carried out the management of the Barca B team. He is also a graduate of La Masia and hence, he had the opportunity to serve the club as a player too.
Contrary to many different views, Guardiola’s take-over at the Catalan capital proved hugely successful for the Azulgrana. The Spanish giants were successful in 13 trophies out of a total of 18 during the Spaniard’s reign.
With 3 Spanish La Liga titles and 2 UEFA Champions League trophies under his belt in just 4 years, the retired defender has established an excellent repute across Europe. Therefore, it is not a surprise to see a number of clubs chasing his signature.
While talking to reporters, the 41-year-old was quoted as saying:
"I will be pleased to receive calls [from interested clubs], of course, but for the next few months I have to recharge my batteries, recharge my mind. I'm going to rest for now and then I will wait. If a club wants me once I've recharged my batteries, and
they seduce me, I will coach again."
Guardiola’s last game in charge of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 will be the Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao on Friday.
