Guardiola has praised his team’s performance and expressed how impressed he is with the way they have continued to improve professionally.
The Spanish mentor’s comments came following Barcelona’s 9-0 thrashing of Hospitalet in the Copa del Rey.
Barcelona hosted Spanish Segunda B Division side, Hospitalet, in the fourth round of the Spanish domestic cup championship. To the joy of the Barca faithful, the current Spanish champions were able to defeat the visitors by an outstanding nine-goal margin.
The Catalans were able to break the deadlock in the 11th minute as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-c34888 Alcantara
in the 23rd minute.
Spanish international and 2011 Ballon d’Or finalist, Xavi Hernandez, was the next Barcelona player to score as he found the back of the net in the 36th minute. Catalans added another goal to their tally just before half time as Tello was able
to get his name on the scoreboard.
Soon after the start of the second half, Isaac Cuenca scored in the 49th minute. His goal was followed by Thiago Alcantara’s penalty kick. Tello and Cuenca, both, completed their respective braces later in the game.
Pep Guardiola was understandably pleased with this team's effort and let his opinions know.
“If we've won prestige it's because of demonstrations like today.” He said while talking to the club's official website.
He also discussed the attitude and the behaviour of his players, expressing that he was very content with they are an example for others.
"The way they behave is admirable. We studied images [of Hospitalet] that we'd usually skip, the players can't perceive that we don't do our http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 and then demand that they do theirs. It's great that they came and cheered us on. The stadium wasn't full but
we heard the 50,000 people, I'm very thankful,” he stated.
The 9-0 victory over Hospitalet brings an end to the year 2011 for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, and Guardiola was quite content with the year which has passed and he is hoping that things improve even further in the coming year.
