The Catalan manager hit out at Competition Committee and Referee Technical Committee as Gerard Pique and Pepe’s outburst storm headlines.
Following his arguable sending off for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670 in mid-week as he abused the technician after Real Madrid’s
draw against Villarreal at El Madrigal.
Barcelona manager, Pep Guardiola, voiced his opinion on the subject and believes the Spanish Competition Committee and the Referee Technical Committee have failed to assert their authority on consistent basis.
Despite Pepe’s two-match ban, Guardiola commented that players have been given too much leeway by the authorities. He added that Gerard Pique deserved a ban for his slur against the referee.
Continuing on the topic, the two-time UEFA Champions League winning manager stated that this has led to the creditability of the officials being questioned, which is becoming a big problem for football in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011.
“It’s been a while now that the committees haven’t demanded respect."
"We’re at a point where everything is too suspicious. There are too many things that they’ve let pass, and in the end they haven’t made themselves respected.”
"Gerard [Pique], with what he said, probably deserved a ban. But they don’t do it, of course, because if there’s another player that says that his team was robbed, they’d have to ban him too.”
"This has been going on for a while, and they [the committee] urgently need to re-establish respect."
As the match officiating drama boils over, Pep Guardiola finds his Barcelona team in touching distance of overtaking La Liga leaders, Real Madrid. With an El Clasico fixture to be played between the two sides later in the season, both sides have equal chance
of domestic glory.
The Catalan outfit have registered seven successive wins on the trot, their latest coming against Joaquin Caparros’ Mallorca. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-c34888 Alcantara
headed for an early bath.
After their 0-2 triumph at the Iberostar Stadium, Guardiola turns his attention towards AC Milan for their UEFA Champions League quarter-final fixture at the San Siro in midweek.
