The young defender is looking to do well for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 this season and says that he wants to play an important role for Remi Garde’s side
After an early morning session, the 21-year-old appeared before the press and used this press conference as an opportunity to talk about his personal ambitions and what he feels the team should go for in the current campaign.
Fofana says that the team has done a fair amount of training and everyone in the squad is mentally and physically prepared for the rigours of the Championnat. The youngster, who signed from Le Havre last summer, says that all of his teammates are focused
on the task ahead and is optimistic of his side’s chances of being a good unit both home and away this season.
While talking about his own preparation, the youngster said that he is available for selection and is determined to show what he is capable of. The 2011/2012 campaign was a learning curve for Fofana and the talented defensive midfielder is using that season
as a platform of good things to come in the future.
“I am available and determined to show what I can do if I’m called upon. With game time, I gained confidence in myself. My learning is not over. I continue to work. Today, I am comfortable with the group, I try to have a greater role.”
With Paris Saint-Germain spending lavishly this summer, Fofana knows that the capital club will be favourites to lift their first Championelle in almost 18 years.
The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 and Marco Verratti have arrived at Parc des Princes and onus is on the cash-laden giants to lift the Ligue 1 crown by the end of the 2012/2013 campaign.
Fofana has tipped PSG for the Championelle.
“We know that PSG have made world class recruitment. This is a team that has the potential to win the Championnat,” says the Le Havre-born Frenchman who played 18 games for Remi Garde’s side last season.
Despite the spending, Lyon still have a good chance of winning the Ligue 1 crown as money never guarantees titles.
