Castel on Thursday, July 21, 2011.
The bout began after Guernsey won the toss and chose to field, as the Austrian batsmen, Lakman Kasturiarachchige and Aman Deep, came out on the crease as the openers for the side.
The pair took off with some productive batting, earning swift runs in the opening minutes of the bout. The two continued into securing a decent, 41-run partnership, which was finally brought to an end by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-J-Rich-c58512, who managed to secure Kasturiarachchige’s
wicket on a successful Leg before Wicket (LBW) appeal.

delivery.
Following the second wicket, the Guernsey bowlers offered more resistance to the batting side after securing another quick wicket.
However, the Austrians still held on to some hope as the opener, Deep, continued to deliver some hard whacks to the bowlers. As the session proceeded, the dangerman was finally sent back to the pavilion by the medium pacer, Stuart Bisson.
Deep made his return after falling 10 runs short of his half ton. The player managed to earn 40 runs for his side, which included a boundary and 3 out of the parks.
By the time Deep made his return to the pavilion, Austria had scored 78 runs with a loss of 4 wickets.

The troubled Guernsey players went on to add slow runs to the total as Austrian bowlers constantly delivered some strong resistance to the batting side.
Half way through the game, the skipper too was made to leave the pitch after Kasturiarachchige struck again, securing his second wicket for the day.
