  1. yes, because 5 pm is evening and evening receptions tend to be a bit dressier

  2. I never do, but I know some people wear something a bit more casual to the wedding, then something more glam for the evening.

  3. It really all depends. If they are having a wedding at a very formal place then you might want to change into an evening dress - whereas for the wedding you could wear a nice sundress.

If you don't know the attire or formality of the dress code for the reception you could always call the bride or a friend/relative of hers. It never hurts to ask...

  4. I would change outfits  in between. Especially if the reception is formal.

  5. That is quite a gap between the church and the reception.  That is really inconvenient for out of town guests.  I would wear something more casual to the church and then get dressed up for the reception.

  6. i say change if u want.

if u feel comfortable that your outfit is appropriate for both functions then dont change!!

  7. There is only one reason I can think of that would cause for such a long break between wedding and reception....

    :) Fun for the couple!

  8. Wow, why the long wait between events?

It depends on where the sites are and how close I live there to them and where my hotel is if its a destination wedding for me.

  9. you can if you want to.  I went to a wedding once where the wedding was a 2 and the reception was a 4.  there wasn't really enough time for me to go all the way home, change, reapply make up, etc before going to the reception so I just wore layers that looked conservative at the wedding and a little more "fun" at the reception.  I also packed some different jewelry in my purse to put on before the reception.

But, there were people there that went home and completely changed, and then there were those people that didn't change at all.  So, it is completely up to you.

  10. I have been to 5 weddings and have never changed outfits between. Maybe this case is different...?

  11. Wow...that's a big gap. Most weddings have the reception right after the ceremony (which usually only takes 30-45 minutes at most). Since you have so much time in between I don't think it would be a problem to change but you're certainly not required to.

  12. Many people do. They tend to dress more conservative for the ceremony and then a little more "party" for the reception. If you can't afford, or don't want to worry about two outfits...wear a dress but put a sweater, shrug or shawl over at the ceremony. Have fun!
