Guidance for classes anyone?

I REALLY need help picking out my courses for my junior year of high school. I'm in Honors Chem, Honors Alg 2, Honors Theology 3, Honors Spanish 3, Music Theory, and Brit Lit. And I want to do something in the health/science field as a profession.

My problem is I want to take Honors Trig so that I can take Honors Calculus next year (it's a prerequisite). And in order to do that, I have to drop either a) Music Theory or b) Spanish 3

Pros and cons of dropping Spanish 3:

I will be put down in to regular Theology because there will be no room for it.

My whole schedule will change.

It will be a relief because Spanish 3 is very difficult.

Pros and Cons of dropping Music Theory:

I love music and it's such a fun class that I wouldn't want to miss out on.

My schedule will remain the same, Honors Trig will take it's place.

I know I should do what's important (Spanish 3). But has anyone that is in the health/science field found taking Spanish in high school useful? Be honest.

But I also know I should do what I love to do (Music). I know I would better my musical abilities if I take this class and I could use that my whole life.

Anyone with ANY advice, please help me out!

  1. Do not drop Spanish Three!  It is the second most spoken language in the world (second to Mandarin Chinese and followed by English) and most colleges require at least some amount of Spanish.  I am taking my second year of Spanish and, from the info on the colleges that I want to attend, I really wish I had taken all four years.  Spanish Three will look amazing on your transcript and, depending on which college you are going to, they are more likely to look at Spanish rather than a music class.

    Hope this helps!

  2. I am a junior also and washaving a hard time picking my classes. for me it was either french 3 or drama class.

it honestly depends on YOU. i know what i choose. first i asked myself the follow questions to what i REALLY wanted from high school:

    a) a class that will advance we through live. a challenging class. a class that can help me further my education and help me get into a good college. after all college is ONLY 2 years away.

    b) my schedule is filled enough. i don't want to be over stressed, after all i am still "only in high school, i need a fun class...to keep my sanity

    did you choose yet?

    a) go for Spanish...yeah you might have a boring year, stressful as that...but HEY you are a senior next year and you can take music theory! later in life you will be thankful that you did.

    b) take music theory, everyone needs fun in life...but cant you wait to take that class when you are a senior?

    good luck

  3. Drop Music Theory.  I would hate to drop a class too but Spanish 3 would look GREAT for college.  But also Honors Trig...If you get like a A+ in that it will look good too.
