  1. I am liking a few of the story lines and there are some that I just don't care for. I love the Reva/Jeffery storyline I am so happy that Reva is happy. I have seen a big change in her and Jeffery too for that matter. Reva is the type of women that can not be held down. She is a free spirit and I think that Jeffery Loves that about her, where Josh would always try to contain her(so to speak)...Don't get me wrong I think that Josh and Reva had a memorable relationship and I still think that they both care for each other. I wish Jeffery and Reva all the happiness and I hope that they are a couple for a long time to come. As far as Josh I really hope that he finds what he is looking for and thank god it's not with Cassie(my opinion). When Josh tried to stop the wedding I had tears in my eyes because you can just see the love that he has for her. I have always thought that it was more of a comfort thing for Josh to be with Reva again that is just my opinion. All in all I am very happy with Reva and Jeffery together.I also hope that Reva's cancer is not back!

I also like that Bill and Lizzie seemed to work out their differences, well at least I hope so. I like them together, but every time they take a step forward something happens and they take 2 step backwards. I am happy that Lizzie got some of the company maybe now they can get over that issue. I think that Lizzie makes Bill a better person. One thing that I would change is for Lizzie to get Sarah back.

I hope that Daisy rises up to Grady's c**p and moves on with her life. I would rather see Daisy with Rafe. The main reason I can not stand Grady is because he killed Tammy. Which brings me to my next compliant I hope that Alan pays for what he did to Tammy/Jonathan/Sarah..I hate any story line that includes Alan I can not stand him.

I hope that Dinah and Bill work out their differences because I love their relationship as brother and sister. I was sad to see her go to Alan she is better than that.

I was so upset to see baby Max die I thought they should have kept him their with Remy. I really wanted to see Remy and Ava end up together. The only conclusion that I can come up with is that they killed of Max because Ava decided that she would not be returning to the show. Sad sad sad I hope that Remy finds love he so deserves it.

I would have much rather seen Cassie go rather than Harley go...I just can not get used to Nicole Forrester she is no Laura Wright(just my opinion) Beth Ehlers will always be Harley period. I was also sad to see Gus go..

All in all I am happy with the way GL is going. I have been a fan for over 10 years, and even after they switched to hand held cameras I stuck with them. It was hard to get used to but I did...

  2. Guiding Light has went downhill, to say the least. That still isn't to say that GL is a bad soap.

GL used to be, literally, unstoppable. At the top of the ratings and obviously one of the most interesting soaps around. When the Spauldings were powerful and the Santos were bickering, the ratings were fabulous. I miss those days, but these days- there are new storylines. GL is opening up a lot of potential and possibilities.

Phillip, Gus, and Harley are gone, yes. They did add a huge aspect to the show. So did the Santos. And Jonathan and Tammy- that was a very GOOD storyline, in my opinion, but the end result was tragic. The way that they now tape the show is horrible, but that doesn't affect the storylines. Taping is taping...nothing more, nothing less.

Now, for the good. Times change; unlike most soaps, GL has hosted a drastic change of events. It changed from the Spauldings to the Lewis' as the power hungry families. Jeffery and Reva are together, after the break of Reva and Josh's "unbreakable marriage." And although Harley and Gus are gone, Natalya and Rafe (in a matter, his legacy lives on) make up for some of it. I miss Harley, yes, and I miss the old Cassie. And I miss the old camera effects. I, however, do not miss the drama. That's because the drama is still there, just in a different way.

I like GL because it's true and it's a classic. Things change, people fall in love with enemies, and people die. GL is not "just a soap opera"- it is the reason for other soaps. It carved a path, an unbeatable one at that.

  3. I can honestly say that I do. I think they are keeping it fresh and current and there doesn't seem to be any long drawn out, bore you to tears storylines. Thank God the Cassie/Josh thing is over with now. That was about to drive me nuts...:)

I've been a fan of GL for a very long time...and I have seen it go through so many ups and downs and with todays technology and all people that have come and gone through Springfield over the years, I really think that it is very stable right now. Back in the late '80s early '90s, there was the core people of Beth, Rick, Phillip and Mindy...and I see the core people right now as Lizzie, Bill, Dinah and Reva...

Its a shame that GL lost Beth Ehlers and Ricky Paul Goldin to AMC...but....like all good things, they must come to an end. I thought the same thing when Grant Alexsander (Phillip Spaulding) left

I know alot of people have expressed a great dislike with the format they are using to film...the hand held cameras and all the outdoor scenes...but for me, in my opinion, it just makes it all that more relatable and realistic. Instead of everyone being inside a house that most people can only dream about living in...people are running around an actual town, to actual places of business and living real lives. To me, that is much better than the high flautin fancy living that goes on on most of the soaps today.

My only complaint is that I would like Ashlee and Coop to get back together...they are such a dynamic duo and although she hasn't had much on-screen time lately, I would like to see Cassie quit being a victim and be the Cassie she is supposed to be (Nicole Foresters fault IMO...shes a horrible actress)

    Great question :)

  4. No to be honest.  I've been watching the show for 25 years and I hate watching what's happening.  Stories move so fast we hardly have time to get into them.  Characters change their tune at the drop of a hat.

Example:  Josh wants to save his marriage to Cassie, no he really wants Reva.  Ava wants Bill so badly she gets pregnant to keep him, until she has him then she wants Remy.  It's driving me batty.

  5. My only objection to the "new" GL was the jumpy cameras, but that has really calmed down.  I don't mind having sets change, I actually like seeing the characters outside in a real town.  It's more realistic.  I don't care if actors/actresses leave the show.  It's not like they're tied down to GL for their whole lives.  And I certainley won't stop watching a show just because an actor leaves.  I don't really dislike any storylines, except Grady's.  I just don't see how anyone would want to be with a scumbucket like him.  I mean, Tammy was Daisy's cousin and Daisy still lied under oath for G?  That was wrong.  I would like to see a new Harley come on the show.. Maybe one day the writers will bring back the character.  And I would like to see Dinah and Bill 'get it' for destroying Alan's life.  True he isn't a good man, but he didn't deserve what Dinah did to him with the IRS.  I'll continue watching the show no matter what changes are made.

  6. The filming is  getting better.  They still need better (more)sets.  The music is great.  The writing could be improved.  What I find the most disturbing is the character assassinations.

As much as I loved B.E. as Harley, I think they should have re-cast the roll.  Harley would have never left her children.

Allen would have never lost his entire fortune, company, and estate to brain damaged Dinah.  And so on.

I think they are trying so hard to appeal to younger demographics that they have lost sight of what made this show last over 70 years...Strong, Believable CHARACTERS.
