At what age can one get this disease, & is it pron more towards Men or women?

Can a 67 year old woman that has had Polio get this disease?

well i got it when i was 20 years old but it is able to be treated ,but it takes about a year to recover ,you do end up in a wheelchair but you do recover for sure
