After looking back on the year 2012, Real Betis president, Miguel Guillen, has described it as a tough but highly rewarding year for the club.
The Sevilla-based club is a far cry from the team they were last year. They ended their last La Liga campaign in the bottom-half of the table.
Now the club has exceeded the expectations of everyone as they have started this season's Primera Division in an impressive manner.
The owner of Betis has admitted that it was a challenging year for his club. At the same time he stated that it is also a rewarding time since the team has done exceptionally well in the Primera Division this season.
Guillen believes the future now looks bright for everyone involved with the club.
“It's been a very hard but very rewarding year,” he told players at the team's Christmas lunch. “The team has settled into the First Division and the future looks bright thanks to all their hard work.”

Finally, Guillen shed some light on the current financial situation of the club. He mentioned the fact that they have been able to restructure the debts of the club and as a result of that, they have improved the financial standing of the team.
“We have also been able to restructure the debt and ensure that there is life in Real Betis.”
Real Betis are currently occupying the 5th spot in the Primera Division standings. Next match in the domestic league, they will entertain Real Mallorca at home.
