Guillermo Ochoa snubs Paris Saint-Germain to join AC Ajaccio – official report
In a surprising turn of events, Mexico international goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Guillermo-Ochoa-c15350 has snubbed French Ligue 1 giants to join newly-promoted Ligue 1 side AC Ajaccio.
The 25-year-old shot-stopper was linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain for a long time and many reports in French media suggested that the highly-rated goalkeeper would eventually join les Parisiens. However, the South American was not really confident
about moving to the capital club.
On Tuesday, Guillermo Ochoa’s agent had indicated that though talks with PSG had started, the keeper is still weighing his options as he does not want to play second fiddle to anyone at this point of his career.
PSG had already signed French goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicolas-Douchez-c27810 from Stade Rennais. That signing could have been the reason why Ochoa chose not to sign for the ambitious side. The Mexican had made it clear that he would not play in a team where he won’t get regular
time.
However, it is surprising to see that Ajaccio have been able to win the signature of the highly-sought-after keeper. L’ours have the smallest budget in the French Ligue 1 at 16 million Euros. Inspite of being short of cash in order to attract quality players,
the Corsican club has done well in landing a huge ‘Mercato coup’ by signing the former Club http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 player.
A statement on Ajaccio’s official website read, “The suspense is over. Ajaccio now officially announce the signing of Mexican international and Club America goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa for the next three seasons.”
The news comes as a pleasant surprise to all Ajaccio fans who must have been astonished to read the news about the signing of the Mexican international. Though many critics would argue Ochoa’s decision to play for a club that will find it hard to survive
in the league next season, Ochoa has indeed made a right choice by choosing to join L’ours.
Since making his debut for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mexico-c2956 in 2005, Ochoa has become an integral part of the Mexican national team and has also represented El Tri in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.
