  1. i have owned 15 guinea pigs

guinea pigs won't run away from you, but you need to watch them at all times

they might fall off the bed.

i wouldn't hold them for more than 5 min (10 min max) they'll p**p/pee on you. but that prob can be solved if you hold your piggy wiht a towel

feed your piggy veggies whenever it is begging or weeting

but make sure it has pellets and water at all times

  2. Yes they can be sometimes very hyper or sometimes very laid back.I lay in my bed with my guinea pig all the time, and she doesnt complain :) I feed her in the morning then when i have dinner than when i have supper.I give her a little of every thing. For ex:2 slices of cucumber(she loves thaem),orange, carrot, and guinea pig food.^.^ i feed her healthyyy!

  3. Guinea pigs are fabulous pets and most will sit with you while you watch TV. You may get the occasional spunky/independent guinea pig who doesn't enjoy his laptime (I have one like that, but from time to time he'll give in and rest with me), but they're still great to own. They need to be fed about a tablespoon of high quality pellets (Oxbow is a great brand), unlimited timothy hay (or alfalfa hay as babies), and large amounts of vegetables every day.

  4. im sorry to say but a guinea pig wont come to you while laying or watching tv. thats very rare. they often get scared all the time no mater how much you get their trust.

they tend to eat almost everytime you have some pellets or veggies for them.

or when they start to sqick alot then that means give me food now!

    good luck.

  5. They won't run away from you when you are holding them, but if you set it on the bed, watch and make sure it don't fall off or eat something it shouldn't.  You feed the fresh veggies(green leaf lettuce, carrots, other safe veggies)twice a day and pellets or pellets with a variety twice a day.  Also have Timothy Hay available at all times, a hay rack would do nicely!

Well, the first week don't expect too much from it, they will be kinda scared and adapting to their life.  Don't take the house away from it when you try to catch it, that makes it worse.  Every time you walk pass the cage, talk to it in a soothing voice so that it knows your voice.  Also, when you hold it, pet it on it's head, cheek, or under its mouth, it is a calming feeling to it!
