Guinea Pig Breeds?

Okay I have 3 guinea pigs, I bought an American guinea pig at the pet store. Later on she had 4 babies. 2 of them died :((

but two of them are still alive. One of them, had very long hair (sort of like a Peruvian guinea pig) and the other has fur like an Abyssinian guinea pig. One of them is tan and dark brown, like her mother. And the other is black and white. I only have their mother, and want to know what their father might have looked like and what breed he was. thank you!

  1. You can only guess by looking at the babies & sometimes, even then, you can be way off.

It sounds like the dad or even the grandfather had Abyssinian or Peruvian in the gene pool. The dad could have been black, white, or both.

  2. the father will have looked like a male guinea pig

  3. he's a black and white abynnisan im very sure

  4. The father could have been a cross between a Peruvian and Abyssinian guinea pig. Or the mother's parents could've been one of those two breeds. You just never know when it comes to it. The father was probably black and white.
