Guinea Pig Pregnant or Has Stomach Tumor?

My friend recently got a guinea pig from a friend that appeared to be pregnant. I've never had one, but have had my share of hamsters, and one had a stomach tumor that made her look pregnant, except it was a squishy mass.

This guinea pig's stomach looks pregnant, but it is very squishy and extends out to her sides a lot. I guess I assume her stomach should be soft, but a lot more firm rather than like a bubble attached to her gut.

How should a pregnant guinea pig's belly feel? Do you think this could be a stomach growth?

A pregnant guinea pig's stomach should be relatively hard. The smooth muscle of the uterus is stretched out with babies, which should make it hard. If you have ever felt a pregnant woman's stomach you would know what it feels like to have a pregnant animal. I believe that she is suffering from a tumor or growth on her stomach. Have your friend take her to the vet right away. The best thing to do is always go to the vet when you are unsure.

well my guinea pigs belly is rather squishy but she is a little chubby, this pig might be overweight but i am not sure

you need to check 3 things.

1> is it male of female

2> if its female, are there males in the cage

3> if there are males, then it should be because growths are usually protruding and of a different color
