  1. Cut back on water containing veggies (not ALL veggies--she needs them to be healthy) & see if that doesn't help.

If it doesn't, you may need a vet visit to have a fecal float done to check for giardia and/or coccidia. This can be cleared up with antibiotics.

  2. dont hold her only hold her when her cage needs cleaning:)

  3. she might have diarrhea don't give her any fruit/veggies for a while and see what happens    if she doesnt get better then take her to the vet

  4. This is perfectly normal.

Rodents and lagomorphs (rabbits, hares and pikas) do not completely digest their food when they eat it. Some of the nutrients are still in their faeces (poo).

So what they do, is the first time they pass the food, they pass soft pellets, the mushy ones you are talking about. They then eat these pellets, then reabsorb the nutrients in the pellet. They pass these out as harder faeces, after all the nutrients have been taken in.

Your piglet (baby guinea pig under 6 months) has not yet learnt to eat her p**p. If she is in the same cage as the adult guinea pigs, then she will soon learn to.

    Good luck. =)

  5. I had that same problem when i first got my guinea pigs. It lasted for about a year, i found there were several different things causing it. A big one was the food, i had to switch like 5 times before i found one that was good for them. I don't think this is the problem for your guinea pig, since they are all eating the same food, but your guinea pig could have specail eating needs, so it may be worth looking into and trying her on a differant food. i would go to Guinea pig lynx and see what you can find.

Another problem that was a biggie was stress, they were scared of the vacum cleaner, the dog, the rabbit and everything. I had to do a lot of calming stuff, i tried everything i could think of, i held them more, played them music, and made an effort to have them somwhere else when i vacumed.

In the end it worked, so you just have to pay attention to her and see what she needs and is afraid of.

I also had to give them a good exersise scheduele and try several different beddings. Like i said, just watch her for a few days, see what she needs, and REALLY do your research, i looked through tons of websites and books and severel things sounded wrong and i could see what i was doing right or wrong.

  6. It might be diarrhea but on the other hand, she might have to much watered food (Veggies)?

Firstly clean her/him up and the cage.

Don't take away the water sources but reduce it and add a mix= seeds, sunflower seeds, chopped up pieces of fruit (carrots and apple), bits of hay and grass for the whole day.

Any questions i would be pleased to answer.

    Good Luck!

  7. It is probably her diet. She may be drinking more water than he cagemates.

www.guinealynx.com and www.guineapigcages.com can help you.

  8. you might be feeding it too many vegetables. try guinea pig pellets. they cant have juicy food when they are young. it can cause diarreah
