Question:

Guinea Pig Problems?

My guinea pig has been biting a lot as of recently. I thought maybe it was a curiosity thing at first but now it's to the point where I can't wear anything revealing skin without him biting during floor time [he'll nip at my feet, legs, hands, ect..]. It's not a matter of me handling food and him smelling it on my hands. He's not provoked in anyway I can tell, it happens even when I'm not paying attention to him such as watching tv while he runs around and at the same time it's not about him wanting attention either that I can tell. It's getting to be quite problematic so your advise/opinions would be great, thanks.

  3. Hello there!

I have a young guinea pig, and for awhile there she was doing the same thing... biting everything in sight, it seems like.  I gave her a piece of wood to chew on, a salt and mineral l**k, and lots of different kinds of food (hard veggies).  Now she is backing off of the extreme biting/chewing.  I assumed maybe she was just teething??  Try the things I did and see if it helps for you.

  4. i have a guinea pig and have never heard of that before try asking a pet store maybe theres something you can buy and spray on you so he won't bite or maybe take him to the vet to make sure theres nothing physically wrong with him that is triggering the behavioral changes, good luck
