Guinea Pig Question about Bedding to use

Should I use woodchips or Cedar Chips? I've been using show white puffy things but they fly all over the floor and room immediately. I thought I heard one of you say that wood chips were bad. What do you think?

My daughter uses a bedding made of straw. She gets it at the pet store and it's recommended specifically for guinea pigs.

Wood chips have something in them called aromatic hydrocarbons. This is why they smell good. They are a form of VOC (volatile organic compounds.) They may cause some illnesses with animals. They have been shown to cause cancer. These are naturally occurring substances and there is nothing that you can do about it. However therre are a lot of good alternatives that are out there. Ask the pet stores what they recommend.
