Guinea Pig/Rabbits??

Question

I want a guinea pig, but i'm allergic to rabbits. does anyone know if they are in the same allergen class???? THANK YOU!!

Guinea pigs are rodents.  Rabbits are really not rodents.

I would suggest speaking to your local pet store to see if it would cause you problems. I think Guinea Pig's would be the best way to go for you since you could have an allergic reaction to rabbit's.

No, guinea pigs are actually rodents, which includes of mice, hamsters and rats. Rabbits are not rodents, therefore you should be ok. But it's always wise to check with a doctor before you get one. Remember, a guinea pig is a lifetime commitment! :)

You should be ok, but I recommend getting a short haired guinea pig just to be safe.

I am also allergic to rabbits and i had a guinea pig...he didnt bother me, so you should be safe to get one.
