My guinea pig squeaks ever often. well when he first did i thought he wanted food. so i'd cut up some cucumbers or carrots or something andfeed it to him. and now when he squeaks i think he thinks that i will give him food. but my mom and i were talking about it and we are scared he might eat to much or something bad will happen and we don't want him to get used to being fed whenever he wants. (if that makes any sense). And we are scare he might get too fat.

  1. You should only feed your guinea pig two or three times a day. If he squeaks, just feed him a couple of his treats and just once a day. Treats should not exceed more than 10% of the diet.

He should also have hay 24/7 and also pellets, because they help the digestive process and trim the constant growing teeth.

He is probably just squealing to say "Hi!" or he just wants you to pay some attention to him. Make sure you play with him everyday for at least 30 minutes!

  2. guinea pigs squeak cause they're happy, or angry or hungry there like babies almost you can sometimes tell by the squeak(or cry in a baby's case) what they want but don't always assume that its food cause if you feed it to much it'll become overweight. So sometimes just let him squeak...hope I helped a little

  3. That is pretty normal for them to vocalize. However watch how much veggies and fruit you give him because it will cause diareha.  Should only be given lightly as a treat and not part of their main diet.

  4. Feed it only at feeding time the allotted amount of food. When it squeaks pet it. When it sleeps leave it alone.
