Hello!

I was wondering can you put a Gerbil and A Guinea pig together just to play?

Not in a cage or anything like that just being put on the floor for a run around.

Would they attack? or be normal?

They are both females and have never bit any one.

  1. You should NEVER let any other animal near a guinea pig unless its another guinea pig. The other animal will be aggressive and will harm the guinea pig. Not meaning to, but still...

  2. No.

    They would hurt each other.

They're different species who live in different areas of the world naturally.

They have different body language- whilst a gerbil is curious when it stands on its hind legs, a guinea pig could see this is threatening- and different ways of communicating verbally.

The gerbil will likely bite the guinea pig, who would then attack the gerbil.

    Just don't do it.

  3. The article that I read says that it may not be a good idea. The gerbil could end up being aggresive to the guinea pig and hurting or killing it.

  4. Guinea pigs actually have pretty big teeth. If the guinea pig felt frightened, one bite and it could kill the gerbil.

  5. No they most likely wouldn't get alone (although there has been cases were gerbils/hamsters will live with guinea pigs)  guinea pigs are big but they are not aggressive and have no way 2 defend them selves and a gerbil would probity nibble at he guinea pigs ears
