Guinea Pigs and Colored Cardboard?

Can my guinea pigs eat colored cardboard, or will it make them dye sooner!!! ha ha ha (my dad said that when i asked him

  1. That is a big NO NO! Coloured cardboard can have toxics in them that could be dangerous to your Guinea Pig! Please don't give your little guy any of that stuff! (For the sake of his health)


  2. If the dye is non-toxic it shouldn't be an issue.

  3. Most boxes that came with food inside them (i.e., cereal, etc) will be okay if they chew on it now and then.  I fill old cereal boxes with hay for them and a couple openings so they can get their hay 24/7 and I don't have to clean up as much of a mess!

  4. Colored things from petstores like bird toys and the like are safe but you might want to call a vet to ask. Better safe than sorry. I dont give my rats any card board with color on it just in case the ink would make them ill. I would call a vet to ask them. From what I have read guinea pigs(although cute) are very fragile. Just ask a vet or someone on here might be able to tell you.
