  1. Nutriphase is not a good pellet feed. It is made by Petsmart and uses corn as a filler, and also has colored bits in it. Vit C drops in the water is pretty useless too.

Oxbow or Kleenmama are the best.

  2. Oxbow is one of the healthiest pellets available! If your pigs are under a year, I suggest getting Oxbow's Cavy Performance made from alfalfa. If they are older than 1 year, get Oxbow's Cavy Cuisine made from Timothy hay.

Nutriphase and Sweet meadow, along with most other brands are not healthy for your pigs at all. Switch as soon as you can!

  3. I have been a guinea pig owner for eight years.  Get Nutriphase with Vitamin C.  Vitamin C is very important to Guinea Pigs.  If they don't have enough of it they will develop a deficiency called Scurvy.  Also, put liquid vitamin drops for guinea pigs in their water.  Also give them timothy hay every day.

  4. You are right to switch to Oxbow hay & pellets! They are the absolute best for your guinea pigs, with no fillers, animal byproducts, carcinogens, and the correct nutrients needed for their health. Make sure if they're under 6 months you feed them Cavy Performance, which is alfalfa-based. Alfalfa based pellets have enough calcium for your growing guinea pigs. If they are older than 6 months they need Cavy Cuisine, which is the timothy based pellet. The same nutrients, but less calcium, because excess calcium in adult guinea pigs may cause stones.

  5. Another vote for Oxbow's pellets.  KMSHayloft.com also sells a great pellet.

I would rank these 2 pellet brands far, far above all others.
