  1. I would try that and make she you let them know how to get water from the bottles by putting it near their mouths. Worse comes to worse, put water in a small dish.

But honestly, you need to take them to a vet right away. Based on their conditions it seem they have malnutrition, probably some tooth infection of sorts- and they should definatley probably still be drinking milk. If you find a local vet he will take care of everything for you.

Good luck and i really do suggest you take them to the vet as soon as possible  because lack of the right vitamins and calcium at this age will lead to thin bones and other diseases that will last their whole lives.

  2. guinea pigs eat normal food from teh day they are born, although they drink their mothers milk too.

if it is about 7 weeks, then give it a carrot, a bowl of water, some lettuce and other veggies and leave it alone for a while. if it is still not eating then take it to the vet.

well done for rescuing it. i hope you keep it and give it a wonderful home.

if there is a problem with its teeth, you will be able to see it by looking at them,. just check, it wont bite you, im sure.

  3. Give it in to a vet immediately.

Well done for rescuing it anyway.

  4. I would mash the pellets (if they can be) and put it in water and feed it to the pig with a syringe in its mouth. It maight take a while for it to work - but it would be worth it. The vet that you see will help too. Good luck!!

  5. Well done for rescuing this poor piggie!

For great info on the proper feeding of guinea pigs check out this site:

    http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/diet...

Basically, a guinea pig should have timothy hay available at all times,  a cupful of veggies per day, and some quality guinea pig pellets. (Oxbow or Kleenmama's are best).

You can soften the pellets by soaking them in warm water - although it may take a couple of hours.

Do NOT use milk! Guinea pigs are herbivores and lactose intolerant - feeding them animal / dairy products is more likely to make them ill!

If the piggie needs extra help Oxbow also do Critical Care, as well as vit C supplements.

Still, see what the vet says. Just bear in mind that not many vets are really cavy-savvy, so double check any info you get!

  6. They are weaned at 7-8 weeks.

    Have you read http://www.guinealynx.info/diet.html ?

  7. You can soften up food by adding a little milk or water and letting it sit for a minute or two.  You can also try getting a dropper and giving it milk, the guinea pig may not have been weaned, yet, so you may have to work on that, just keep food nearby, eventually he/she will get the point. They get pretty smart when it comes to food.
