  1. we have the same problem, 2 cats from next door came into our garden and try to dig our pigs out

    so

    ....

got a water pistell ? drowned the bugges LOL

    oh

sit by your guinea-pigs and when you see the cats, pick them up if your can and chuch them out of your garden

  2. water pistol is a fab idea, i think the only way to keep them 100% safe is either you only let them out when youre there to keep an eye on them or make sure the area is secure and tight and keep a towel covered over to stop the stress.

  3. a few suggestions; make sure the run is always covered with a lid, try using cat cat deterrent like spray which should keep them away from the area

  4. try taking them  to a park where there are no stray animals and bring one at a time so you can keep them on a leash.

  5. A giant water pistol.

  6. The best way would be for you to be out there with them.  Personally, I can't think of a run that would be secure enough for me to feel comfortable leaving my guinea pigs alone in it.  There are so many predators outside and many runs are easily toppled or accessed by predators.

  7. I had the same problem with my Guinea-Pigs (when I had them - they have both died now - sob), until we got a dog and he kept them away.

Unfortunately, you can't completely stop the cats from harassing your babies but you can make sure the cats can't get too them. I got my dad to build two runs together (Both covered with chicken wire) with about 30cm gap between the two runs so the cats couldn't hurt them with their paws or teeth. I also made a wooden box to go inside the run so they could hide away from the cats if they felt threatened.

Alway keep your hutch covered over the top.

  8. Surround the run with a 'security fence'.

  9. Never leave them alone when they are out there. All is takes is one split second and it will be too late.

  10. Make sure the area is secure...

My cat loves to sit on my piggy cages, but it doesn't seem to bother them at all.

  11. strangely enough we solved this problem by accident, we had a silver fox rabbit to and he went out with the guineas. Any cat they dared to come near was chased away by jasper the rabbit!

  12. with a shotgun

  13. you can take them run other place or talk to the cat owners

  14. I would breed them like crazy, start a little army and hit the cats where it hurts when their asleep!

or maybey this link will help.
