Guinea pig with broken leg, how do i make him more comfortable during his healing time?

Hello. One of my guinea pigs, approximately 3 months old, has a broken femur. The vet said it's a very hard area to immobilize, so it will have to heal on it's own, and most likely end up with a limp. I'd like to know what position(s) would be best to try and keep his leg in, as he tends to let it slide away from his body. I guess nature knows best and he is in the most comfortable position for him, but i would like to know if i should try and keep the leg closer to his body so the bone doesn't end up stretched out like that. And i have isolated him so the other guinea pig doesn't mess with him at this time, and he doesn't have room to move around much. The vet did say i should leave him be for about 3 weeks, but it breaks my heart to see him like that, and his friend on the other cage crying out for him. Can you give me some pointers? Thank you in advance

  1. i would just let him be. and i would let the other pig see him so he doesn't think you gave him away. that's why hes screaming my one does that when i'm playing with the other. my one taught her self to walk again after her pregnancy pinched a nerve, her legs stick out a little. but vet said it was ok.

  2. well in his cage put an old towel around him  it will make him comfy and put his food near him and his water so it doesn't have to walk very far
