i'm being told that they should be inside. I have two dogs so no cats come near our house. My piggy is defiently not scared of the dogs. my dog likes to sit on top of the cage when the morning sun comes on it lol and the guinea pig couldnt care less. when we've had to doggysit the new puppy would stand there barking at guinea pig cuz it was all new and the guinea pig would be standing up on the cage sniffing the puppy and then continue eating. i'll put him out on an open cage on the grass and the dogs will run around and do their thing, guinea pig is happy eating grass. so should he really be inside? i've had him outside for 4 yrs now

  1. Annie-Rose D...Did you read what she wrote...she says in the last line..."I've had him outside for 4 yrs now".

They need to be inside. It's not just predators but the weather. Plus, you can enjoy them so much more when they are inside with you.

  2. ! The guinea pigs shouldn't be outside! They could get hurt or something else bad. As I was reading, I couldn't understand if the guinea pigs are outside with a cage or not. Even though your dog doesn't mind the guinea pigs, something else could eat them. Like birds, and other animals. Small animals could get in also, that that's horrible, for instance, ants, fleas, ticks and more. Have space for your guinea pig inside. They take no more than five feet of space. It's lucky they survived out for FOUR years! I hope you consider bringing them in, they will seem happier.

  3. Don't keep your guinea pig outside, they are alot happier when they're inside, closer to their owners.

They don't tolerate sudden temperature changes or frequent drafts well. Being outside also makes it easier for them to catch parasites, and be attacked by wild animals, even if cats do not come near your house. Smaller animals can easily slip through the bars of the cage and bite your guinea pig.

Even if you give your pig an overload of hay, blankets and hiding houses, it's still not enough.

Find a space in your house where you can keep your guinea pig, and let him live inside.

  4. He seems fine.

But dogs are the main predator of Guinea Pigs.

I think ur little piggy has got attitude! lol

My one is inside in a large cage but it I think it would be nice to let her run around and eat grass.

    Above:

They dont have to be outside.

    Her piggy seems very happy.
